Katherine Lennon, Registered Psychotherapist (RP), Adolescents, Individuals
I use a combination of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and interpersonal methods. This action-oriented approach provides support and practical feedback to help you effectively address life's challenges. We explore past events only as they are relevant, but will not dwell on the past; instead, I am interested in helping you stay in the present and focus on moving towards creating the kind of future you look forward to living.
I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach. With compassion and understanding, I will work with you to help you build on your strengths and attain the personal growth you are committed to.
Also, I use a holistic wellness approach, as I believe that your overall lifestyle influences your mental health. Specifically, I will offer strategies to improve your bio-psycho-social well being. For example, proper nutrition, quality sleep habits, benefits of regular exercise, the importance of a healthy friend/family support network, and leisure activities that are rewarding and recharging.

Christine Flindall, Master of Social Work (MSW), RSW, Children, Families
My role as a social worker and psychotherapist is to meet your child where they are and guide your family through the therapeutic process. When working with children and teens, I believe that it is important for the parents/guardians to be involved in the process as much as possible.
Prior to joining Cobourg Counselling, I worked with children and adolescents and their families in a variety of settings, including as a Child and Family Therapist at EveryMind Mental Health Services (formerly Peel Children’s Centre) and as a Mental Health Clinician at the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.
My areas of special interest include grief, loss, anxiety, self-esteem, body image, depression/low mood, self-doubt/feelings of not “measuring up”, family changes, and peer relationships/challenges.
I am also very interested in what it means to be a young person in the 21st century, and how parents can best support their children and foster connection and resilience in this rapidly changing world.
My work is guided by the following: a commitment to collaboration and transparency; a deep curiosity about my clients’ skills, knowledge, expertise, and values, and how these can help my clients reduce the influence of the problems and challenges they are facing; and my belief that people - no matter their age - are the experts in their own lives. I use an integrative approach and draw on a number of therapeutic theories and practices in my work, including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
I earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Edinburgh, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Queen’s University. I am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
