With over 14 years experience as a therapist, and as a graduate of McGill and Lethbridge University specializing in Counselling Psychology, I am currently serving as a Counsellor who works with a broad spectrum of clients. Among my areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, panic, grief, loss, adjustment, anger, body image, disordered eating, stress, burnout, caregiver stress, chronic pain, and acquired brain injury.
I use a combination of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and solution-focused methods. My action-oriented approach provides support and practical feedback to help you effectively address personal life challenges. I explore past events only as they are relevant, but will not dwell on the past; instead, I am interested in helping you stay in the present and focus on moving towards creating the kind of future you look forward to living.
I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach. With compassion and understanding, I work with you to help you build on your strengths and attain the personal growth you are committed to accomplishing. Also, I use a holistic wellness approach, as I believe that your overall lifestyle influences your mental health. Specifically, I will offer strategies to improve your bio-psycho-social well being. For example, proper nutrition, quality sleep habits, benefits of regular exercise, the importance of a healthy friend/family support network, and leisure activities that are rewarding and re-energizing.

Corena Bowen, Child Counsellor
Hi, my name is Corena. I have been working in child behavioural therapies for over 15 years, working with various School Boards as well as running my private child behavioural therapy practice and equine therapy service.
As a certified and experienced Applied Behaviour Analyst (ABA), Autism Intervener, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) counsellor, I am able to help children find more effective ways to express their emotions, develop self- regulation skills and build coping strategies.
I specialize in behaviour exceptionalities associated with disorders such as AD/HD, Learning Disorders, and Anxiety. Behaviours and challenges may include impulse control issues, impaired social interaction, excessive fears, anxiety, and poor decision-making. Providing a supportive framework, I strive to build positive and trusting relationships that help promote child well-being. I find it a great privilege to work with children and to help them learn to manage their emotions and behaviours and become more successful in negotiating the many challenges they may face.
