About Us

Katherine Lennon, Registered Psychotherapist

Hello and Welcome to Cobourg Counselling! I am pleased to provide both in-person and online individual therapy to clients.  I bring 17 years of experience to my practice, and as a graduate of McGill and Lethbridge University specializing in Counselling Psychology, I enjoy working with a broad range of clients. Among my areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, grief, loss, body image, disordered eating, stress, burnout, caregiver stress, chronic pain, and acquired brain injury.

I use a combination of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and interpersonal methods. This action-oriented approach provides support and practical feedback to help you effectively address life challenges. We explore past events only as they are relevant, but will not dwell on the past; instead, I am interested in helping you stay in the present and focus on moving towards creating the kind of future you look forward to living.

I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach. With compassion and understanding, I will work with you to help you build on your strengths and attain the personal growth you are committed to. Also, I use a holistic wellness approach, as I believe that your overall lifestyle influences your mental health. Specifically, I will offer strategies to improve your bio-psycho-social well being. For example, proper nutrition, quality sleep habits, benefits of regular exercise, the importance of a healthy friend/family support network, and leisure activities that are rewarding and re-energizing.
